Old Mill Beach

This small, but inviting sandy beach offers beautiful views of Long Island Sound, especially at sunrise and sunset. There are no restroom or changing area facilities. The park is open May 1 through Sept. 30 from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Motor vehicles and motorcycles may enter the beach with a valid Parks and Recreation vehicle parking emblem and a daily fee is not available. *Parking is limited* No lifeguards on duty: Swim at your own risk. No kayaking or canoeing.

Burying Hill Beach

A 2.39 acre park with sand and rock beach along the shore of Long Island Sound. It has restroom and changing area facilities, picnic tables, grills; and is adjacent to a wildlife area along the canal that borders the park. Motor vehicles and motorcycles may enter the beach with a valid Parks and Recreation vehicle parking emblem or by paying the daily fee.

West Beach

The largest of the town's beaches. There is a sandy beach facing Long Island Sound with views of Menunketesuck Island, Duck Island and Salt Island. Facilities includes pier, food concession, picnic area, sanitary facilities (seasonal), supervised swimming, walkways.

South Street Beach

Offers visitors a sandy crescent beach and grassy area to enjoy Long Island Sound. This beach is the furthest removed from the city of West Haven strand of beaches to the east. Rocky outcroppings provide good fishing spots. It is well-suited for those looking for a quieter beach experience. Parking lot accessiblity is best one block north of South Street. Facilities includes car-top boat access, sanitary facilities (seasonal), fishing, unsupervised swimming.

Sandy Point

A long stretch of sandy beach extending into New Haven Harbor that is popular for birding. Faclities include sanitary facilities (seasonal), fishing, unsupervised swimming, trails, walkways. The island mainly serves as a breeding ground for several species of shoreline birds, including the least tern , the roseate tern , the piping plover , the American oystercatcher , and the herring gull , among others. Peck Beach

A narrow beach nearly a mile long. Two stairways cross over sandy dunes to access sandy beach and waterfront. Facilities include pier, handicapped acces, fishing, supervised swimming, walkways. Oak Street Beach

A sandy beach with a pier. The site is ideal for fishing. Night lights installed on the pier make walking out more pleasant. Facilities include food concession, handicapped access, picnic area, sanitary facilities (seasonal), fishing, supervised swimming, walkways.

Morse Beach

A large sandy beach and visitors can enjoy the distant views of the lighthouse in New Haven Harbor. A rocky outcropping into the Long Island Sound is suitable for fishing.
