Hole-in-the-Wall Beach

The beach is accessed through a short tunnel under the railroad tracks, which is the inspiration for the name Hole-In-The-Wall. Its white-sand beach slopes next to a swimming area sheltered on the east by a stone jetty. To the right is McCook Point Beach & Park and to the left is the Niantic Bay Boardwalk. Enjoy a nice relaxing day at the beach, a walk on the boardwalk or on Main Street to enjoy the community of Niantic within the Town of East Lyme . During the summer a lifeguard is present during the day. A beach pass is required to access the beach between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Brodie Park

This lakeside park features 50 acres for activities, including swimming. Across the road is an additional 150 acres with hiking trails in the Franklin P. Kearney Conservation. Use of the beach area requires a beach sticker and spaces are also available for rent for either canoe storage or boat moorings.

New Fairfield Town Park

Swimming facility with restrooms, changing areas, extended snack bar and a picnic area overlooking the water. Open for weekends Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day weekend. Children 12 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Residents are able to purchase a season pass for a nominal fee. Daily guest passes are also available.

Greens Harbor Beach

Offering both a sandy beach and a harbor setting where visitors can swim and sunbathe. Lifeguards provide supervised swimming seasonally. Food concessions and picnic tables available. Facilities include handicapped access, restrooms. *Parking available on street for no fee.

Walnut Beach

A sandy beach and a great place to spend the day strolling along the edge of the Long Island Sound or fishing from the pier. Visitors have a view of Charles Island from this site. Facilities include fishing, shellfishing, access pier, food concession, handicapped access, picnic area, restrooms. Gulf Beach

A beautiful sandy beach with an access pier for fishing, picnic areas, restrooms and a view of Charles Island. Parking lot for residents is on-site and non-resident parking is located across the street. Facilities include food concession, handicapped access, fishing and walkways.

Surf Club

A town-owned 45 acre park on Long Island Sound with picnic areas, sports facilities, and supervised beach swimming. Seasonal food concessions and restrooms. Access to the park is available by purchasing a season pass. Facilities include car-top boat access, shellfisihing, trails and walkways. East Wharf Beach

A town beach with a fishing pier, shellfishing is available west of the pier only. A gazebo offers scenic views of Long Island Sound. Access is limited to pass holders. No pets allowed at any time and rafts and other inflatables not allowed. Facilities include access pier, car-top boat access, handicapped access, sanitary facilities (seasonal). Emery Park

Emery Park was donated to the Town of Kent by the Emery Family of Greenwich in 1962. The land was once used for charcoal production, lumber, and pastures for grazing until the early 1900’s. Today, Emery Park is known for its playground, picnic area with grills, open field and meadow, hiking, snowshoeing in the winter months, and being home to the summits of Leonard Mountain and Segar Mountain. The blue-blazed trail is a 2 mile out-and-back hike, leading from the trailhead to the stunning overlook near the summit of Leonard Mountain. Dogs are permitted in Emery Park. Dogs must be on leash. Trolley Road Coastal Access

Small unimproved area provides access to sandy beach. Walk only along the beach below the wet sandy mark after entering the site to remain within the area open to the public. Dirt parking lot at the end of Trolley Road. Activities including bird watching, crabbing and fishing. *There is no fee to park in the parking lot.
