Dawson Avenue Beach

A wide sandy beach with some shallow water areas provides an ideal place for a family picnic with small children. The adjoining Abbot Park on Ocean Avenue provides a lawn area with benches. Facilities include car-top access, sanitary facilities (seasonal), fishing, surpervised swimming. *There is no fee to park in the parking lot

Bradley Point Park

On West Haven’s Bradley Point, Old Glory sways proudly in the breeze over the Veterans Walk of Honor which includes memorials for both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. The Point also marks the start of a 1.7 mile beachfront path. The City of West Haven offers parking at each end of the trail. Includes a small sandy beach and a developed walkway parallel to Long Island Sound. Park benches provide vantage points for visitors to enjoy extensive views of Long Island Sound. Baybrook Beach

Small sandy beach. Site is ideal for bird watching and picnicking. Small parking lot accommodates only 2 to 3 cars. Facilities include food concession, crabbing, fishing, unsupervised swimming. *There is no fee to park in the parking lot

Altschuler Beach

Accessible from an extensive boardwalk. Facilities include car-top boat access, fishing, supervised swimming and walkways. Beach parking is available at the Savin Rock Conference Center when not in use, street parking is available as well for no fee.

Waterford Beach Park

Offers visitors a rare opportunity to experience an unmodified natural beach with outstanding views of Long Island Sound and extensive tidal marsh. This nearly 1/4 mile long sandy beach provides one of the best examples of an intact dune system in the state. Daily passes for non-residents can be purchased at the gate. Parking is limited. Facilities: fishing, supervised swimming, picnic area, restrooms, walkways. Crandall Park

The park contains a mix of active and passive areas with approximately 20 acres developed and the remaining 380 acres undeveloped. Facilities include a swimming area (3-acres with sand beach, raft, diving board and swim lanes), play area, three tennis courts, softball field, basebase field, basketball court, hiking trails, fishing, non-motorized boating. $3 per person for residents and $6 per person for non-residents.

Short Beach

Located by the mouth of the Housatonic River, Short Beach has all kinds of amenities for fun in the sun. It's an excellent recreational venue for all ages. The northernmost section provides handicap access to the beach as well as tern and piping plover nesting areas. Fisherman use the marine basin to fish for snapper bluefish during the summer. Long Beach

Nestled between Long Island Sound and the Great Meadows tidal marsh it shelters, Long Beach, at a little over one mile in length, is one of the longest barrier beaches in Connecticut. A stroll along the beach surround the visitor with dunes, the Great Meadows Marsh and the open waters of the Long Island Sound. Many species of shorebirds and waterfowl can be found there, including the "threatened" Piping Plover that nests throughout the summer on the western part of the beach. duBois Beach

Located in the picturesque seaside village of Stonington Borough. Enjoy the shallow water depths, on-site pavilion, and clean, family-oriented sandy beach. Park at the Stonington Point lot at the end of Water Street. Visitors to duBois Beach are required to display season passes. Individual adult passes or family memberships are available for purchase at the Stonington Community Center, located at 28 Cutler Street, Stonington or online. Daily fees will be assessed at duBois beach if passes are not provided.
