Mill River Park Collaborative is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working with the public and the City of Stamford to bring the community’s vision of a central park to life in the heart of downtown. Together, we guide the long term growth of Mill River Park as a vibrant greenspace where people can relax, play, learn, and connect with nature.
During the colder months, lace up your skates at the Cohen Ice Skating Center and enjoy public skating on 9,000 square feet of ice, along with private skating events and ice rink birthday parties.
As temperatures warm, the Park comes alive with spring cherry blossoms along the riverwalk and summer days filled with free fitness classes, concerts, and more.
Year round, families can enjoy the newly renovated Sue McGraw Friendship Playground, reopened in 2025 with inclusive features such as a wheelchair accessible merry go round, climbing turtles, and modern play equipment.
The Park also offers free programs for all ages, including Sunday Funday, Fun Saturday Mornings, the Adult Enrichment Series, and Open Mic Night, making it a place with something for everyone.
Take a ride on the Park’s handcrafted carousel, celebrate a birthday under the carousel lights, or explore hands on learning at the Whittingham Discovery Center, home to field trips, after school programs, summer camps, and interactive educational experiences.
Mill River Park is a place to gather, celebrate, and create lasting memories in every season.
