The Bevin House Bed & Breakfast

The Bevin House was built in 1872 by Philo Bevin, who joined his three brothers in the Bevin Brothers Manufacturing Company. Since 1832, this factory made a wide variety of bells; from sleigh bells, cow bells, tea bells, to call bells and many more. They were the largest supplier of bells in the early 1900's. Philo had the mansion built late in his life as a testament to his achievements and to be known as the wealthiest man in town. Gallery at Kent Art Association

Until 1956, the Kent Art Association held exhibitions wherever space was available in Kent. In that year the Association acquired a two-story colonial house on South Main Street (Route 7), and as time went by, architectural improvements were made to allow the entire interior to be converted into its present spacious well-lighted and air conditioned galleries. We take pride in the facility and exercise care to maintain and keep it in top-notch condition. Parking is available in the designated parking area in the rear of the building. Inside the Gallery, you will find two stories of exhibition

Lorca

The concept for Lorca came about when an architect with a love for food and coffee founde herself unemployed in Brooklyn, New York. Having grown up in Spain enjoying churros and drinking cortados at a young age, she developed an unhealthy obsession with both. In 2010, she traveled to Sevilla to learn the art of making churros at a small local shop. In 2011, she began working at an artisan coffee bar in Darien, Connecticut to learn the craft of coffee. In the winter of 2012, Lorca opened to deliver a taste of both experiences to the heart of Stamford.
