The Garde Arts Center is Southeastern Connecticut's home for the performing arts. Built in 1926 as a vaudeville and movie theater, this ornate building has been restored to the spirit of its original glory, complete with Moroccan-styled interiors. Stenciling, evocative murals, and plaster work arches set the scene for the exotic space, and new, state-of-the-art technology has been incorporated into auditorium. The Center presents Broadway musicals, theater tours, opera, dance performances, concerts, theater productions and film festivals.
