New Haven Museum

The New Haven Museum preserves and shares the history of the greater New Haven community through museum exhibitions, public programs, and the resources of the Whitney Library. Three hundred years of history unfold in the galleries as visitors explore New Haven’s colorful past from the Quinnipiac Indians through Mayor Lee and urban renewal. The Whitney Library’s 30,000 volumes and 250 manuscript collections allow researchers to delve deeper into the region’s past.

Lutz Children's Museum

Come hear the story of the Widow Arnold from when she and her husband, Joseph Arnold purchased the small dwelling shortly after their marriage through the expansion of the house and family and the trials and tribulations she faced after her husband’s unexpected death in 1823. Housatonic Meadows State Park

Camping under the tall pines on the riverbank at Housatonic Meadows evokes a genuine back-to-nature feeling. The clear, cold river water also provides a great opportunity for fly fishermen to test their skills on trout and bass. The campground offer 95 sites in a rustic setting near the Housatonic River. Nathan Lester House and Farm Tool Museum

Built in 1793, the historic Nathan Lester House and Farm Tool Museum is surrounded by 100 acres of its own farm and land. A memorial garden developed by the local garden club adjoins the side yard. The Great Oak park, an 11 acre site containing the remains of the 400 year old Ledyard Oak and given to the town by the Hill family adjoins the farm to the west. Beyond the Great Oak Park lies the Lester Family Cemetery.
