Stonington’s best-known landmark is the 1840 Old Lighthouse, which keeps watch at the south end of Stonington Point. The New Haven Museum preserves and shares the history of the greater New Haven community through museum exhibitions, public programs, and the resources of the Whitney Library. The Whitney Library’s 30,000 volumes and 250 manuscript collections allow researchers to delve deeper into the region’s past.
