Emery Park was donated to the Town of Kent by the Emery Family of Greenwich in 1962. The land was once used for charcoal production, lumber, and pastures for grazing until the early 1900’s. Today, Emery Park is known for its playground, picnic area with grills, open field and meadow, hiking, snowshoeing in the winter months, and being home to the summits of Leonard Mountain and Segar Mountain. The blue-blazed trail is a 2 mile out-and-back hike, leading from the trailhead to the stunning overlook near the summit of Leonard Mountain. Dogs are permitted in Emery Park. Dogs must be on leash.
