Joseph Carpenter Silversmith Shop
Joseph Carpenter, silversmith and clockmaker built his shop in 1772 on the Norwichtown Green when the Green was the commercial and social center of colonial Norwich. The shop is still located in the same location and is one of the few remaining frame tradesmen shops left in New England. Inside, you will see the original walls built by Carpenter, the chimney forge he used for his silversmithing, as well as displays about the other tradesmen and businesses located around the Norwichtown Green.
