Fun awaits you throughout every season at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center. The beloved 118-acre property is home to Heckscher Farm, an 18-acre working New England farm with heritage breeds of animals; Heckscher WILD!, featuring exotic animals from across the globe; Overbrook Nature Center; the Bendel Mansion, once the summer home of famed New York retailer Henri Bendel, which now houses museum galleries with changing exhibitions and pieces from the Museum’s permanent collection; an otter pond; more than 80 acres of hiking trails; and so much more.
Classes and programs are offered year-round for children, adults and families, including the SM&NC Nights Out acclaimed series of Adult-only programs, events and outings. Family festival weekends and special events are hosted throughout the year. The SM&NC’s Wheels in the Woods #7 Trail provides a universally accessible nature trail for visitors. The Museum also features Art, Nature & Me, a Connecticut state licensed preschool. The preschool experience is enhanced by the museum's amazing site, with students outside every day. The popular SM&NC Sunday Farm Market is open weekly from May through November.
