Schindler/Schmidt Conservation Area

Interesting rock formations at a stream crossing beckon you to explore the Schindler-Schmidt property where more than two miles of hiking trails lead you through a pristine hardwood forest.

The Schindler-Schmidt has an outer loop trail of nearly two miles.  A wooden bench not far from the parking area is a nice place to sit and listen to the sounds of the forest that surround you.  There are two shorter, interior trails that climb a rocky promontory on the east side of the property, which require some rock scrambling.  At the north end of the property, the loop trail meanders through a unique landscape of large boulders surrounding a stream crossing.  Also at the north end of the loop trail, is a white-blazed connecting trail to Kendall Mountain Road.
