Founded in 1975, Real Art Ways is one of the country's early alternative arts spaces. Presenting and producing new and innovative work by emerging and established artists, and serves as a crucial connection for audiences and artists regionally, nationally, and internationally. Real Art Ways is an intersection of people, art, and ideas. Offering daily cinema screenings and the galleries are open six days a week. Programming covers a broad range of cultural activities including visual arts exhibitions, concerts, literary readings, education and family programs, public art, social events, and community projects. Visitors are encouraged to stop by and use the Loading Dock Lounge (with free wifi), have a cup coffee or a glass of wine, see what is new in the gallery and meet new people. The third Thursday of every month is Creative Cocktail Hour, a coming together of creative and interesting people from all over.
