Hurd State Park

Enjoy scenic views of the Connecticut River while surrounded by nature. Activities include birding, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking, and camping. The river campsite is available from May 1 through September 30, is limited to one night stay and restricted to canoers and kayakers only. Campers must arrive and depart by boat. Capacity is 12 campers. This park is a designated "walk-in" facility. Parking is available at the main gate and near the gates at the intersection of Rte. 151 and Hurd Park Road. Day Pond State Park

Penwood State Park

Most hiking trails start and end in the main picnicking area. Each trail is a color-coded loop with the exception of the Nature Trail. This trail encircles Lake Louise and passes by the pinnacle overlook. Activities include cross country skiing, hiking and picnicking.

Xfinity Theatre

State of the art indoor/outdoor amphitheater. The Comcast Theatre is a popular indoor/outdoor amphitheatre that has a venue capacity of 30,000. The theatre can seat 22,500 people in the outdoor lawn area and 7,500 people indoors. In fact, the outdoor space is mainly used during the summers and this makes it one of the largest amphitheaters in the country.
