Indian Well State Park

The park's scenic waterfall and brook give this park its name, Indian Well. The falls and shaded picnic grove at the water's edge make this park a great place to spend a lazy summer day. Activities include boating, field sports, hiking, picnicking, fishing, and swimming.

Collis P. Huntington State Park

Life-like sculptures of bears and wolves welcome your arrival to this peaceful and tranquil setting featuring open fields and dense woodlands. The park was donated to the citizens of Connecticut by the internationally renowned Huntington family. Activities include canoeing, cross-country skiing, hiking, hunting (fall archery deer only), horseback riding, mountain biking, and pond fishing (five ponds). Please note: This state park is open to archery-only deer hunting from September 15 to December 31. Hunters may only park in the parking areas designated with pink arrows. The Old Dodgingtown

Mashamoquet Brook State Park

Rich with history, legend and lore, this park offers hiking, camping, fishing and swimming. Two camping areas available. The Mashamoquet Brook Campground has 20 wooded sites. Southford Falls State Park

At the turn of the century, this was the site of the Diamond March Company. Find scenic waterfalls at the southeast end of the park on the Eight Mile River. The park was establised as a state park in 1932 and has 169 acres. Activities include cross country skiing, field sports, hiking, picnicking, pond and stream fishing. The park is a designated Trout Park.

Haystack Mountain State Park

Travel the twisting mountain road or hike the rugged trail to the top, either way you will be astounded at the beauty of Mountain Laurel in June and the spectacular colors of foliage in the fall. From November through the third weekend in April, this park is a "walk-in" facility with limited parking at the entrance.

Dennis Hill State Park

Hike to the summit of this 240-acre estate for panoramic views. It becomes an autumn wonderland in foliage season, with activities including hiking, picnicking and enjoying the view from the top. From the beginning of November until the third weekend in April, this park is a "walk-in" facility, with limited parking available at the entrance. Macedonia Brook State Park

Macedonia Brook State Park is a state park located in Kent, Connecticut that offers hiking trails and splendid views of the Catskill and Taconic Mountains. Visitors can camp in a 51-site campground, picnic, fish, and hike the blue-blazed Macedonia Ridge Trail, which crosses Cobble Mountain and other peaks, offering outstanding views and vistas particularly in the fall. Numerous springs and streams add to the pleasure of hiking. Activities include camping, hiking, picnicking and stream fishing. The camping season begins mid-April and ends September 30.

Lake Waramaug State Park

Few bodies of water in Connecticut can rival the picturesque setting of Lake Waramaug. Activities include camping, boating (car-top), lake fishing, picnicking, swimming and canoe/kayak rentals. The campground offers 77 sites in wooded and open settings. The camping season begins the weekend before Memorial Day weekend and ends September 30. Other amenities: picnicking.

West Rock Ridge State Park

Take in the views of New Haven Harbor and Long Island Sound from the top of West Rock. This is a 1,700 acre park with 23 miles of trails, including the Blue-Blazed Regicides Trail along the length of the trap rock ridge. Mountain biking, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing permitted on some trails. Fishing and car-top boating (canoes, kayaks and boats with electric motors) at Lake Wintergreen.
