Goodwin Park

A beautiful city park with outdoor activities in Hartford. Goodwin Park was formally established as a park November 4, 1895, with the remaining 37 Acres acquired in 1927. It was originally named South Park on the preliminary design plans and on city plat maps. The design of the park was developed by Olmsted, Olmsted and Elliot of Brookline, Massachusetts in 1900.

Fox Hopyard Golf Club

This 18-hole, par 71 golf course in East Haddam winds through 530 acres of rolling hills, dense forest, open pastures, running brooks, ponds, wetlands, rock outcroppings and stone walls. A semi-private golf course designed by Roger Rulewich, the general public is welcome to come play the course as often as they like. Members have the privilege of reserving starting times as far in advance as desired. However, public tee times can be made only 7 days in advance when booking online. Golf and Dinner Packages and groups involving banquets may be booked as far in advance as desired.

King House Museum

The Suffield Historical Society owns and operates the King House Museum, which is open free of charge on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons from May through September. Built in 1764 by Dr. Alexander King, an influential figure in Suffield history, the museum's period rooms house an excellent collection of local furnishings. The gallery rooms contain a fine exhibit of local tobacco growing and cigar manufacturing history, as well as significant special collections of early flasks and bottles, embroidery samplers, Bennington pottery, Suffield postcards, and other local memorabilia.
