Dedicated to diverse and challenging productions that engage and entertain, to training the next generation of theatre artists, and to celebrating the power of the theatre to illuminate our common humanity.
The theatre is housed in a former Christian Adventist Church, originally built in 1901, until membership dwindled and it was disbanded in the 1960s. In 1973, fledgling Creative Arts Center of New Milford, Inc. purchased the facility with the goal of presenting not only theatre but a variety of artistic events.
As time passed, "The Little Theatre of New Milford" focused more and more on what it did best and in 1992 was re-named TheatreWorks to more accurately reflect the company and its mission. For almost 50 years, this award-winning, non-profit theater has offered audiences a great night out at a reasonable price.
