The Robert Trent Jones Course is a player favorite with rolling hills on the front nine, varying dog-legs on the back, and 44 bunkers mixed in to challenge all player abilities. Its 18 breathtaking holes meander through acres of woodlands, wetlands, and grasslands. On the back-nine, water comes into play on seven of the nine holes and the undulating slope of the greens will challenge astute and novice players.
The Gary Player Course is sprinkled with deciduous trees and classic white pines. The routing of this course takes players through the apple orchards and offers ample elevation changes throughout the design. This course can be played from 4,667 to 6,600 yards and offers a stellar mix of par 3's that average over 210 yards from the tips. On holes 11 and 13 the guests will be treated to 360 degree view of southern Connecticut's picturesque landscape. This course rewards well positioned drives and accurate iron play with 34 bunkers protecting relatively small greens. Lyman Orchards Golf Club is the perfect golf venue with two unique designs and the rich history of the farm which dates from 1741.
Lyman Orchards Golf Center & Apple Nine course provide golfers of all abiliites with a challenging and less intimidating golfing experience. The Par-29 course was ranked as the top Par 3 course in CT and 10th overal by New England Golf Monthly. Golf Range Association of America has recognized the 40-bay driving range as one of the Top 50 Stand Alone Hitting Ranges in the US. With innovative insrtuctions programs throughout the season, and a state-of-the-art practive facility, hundreds of men, women and children have learned to play the game or have improved their swing at The Golf Center.
The world-renowned property grows apples, peaches, pears, pumpkins, blueberries, and raspberries. Over 40,000 fruit trees grace the farm's rolling hills and guests are invited and encouraged to "pick-their-own" produce throughout the growing season. Guests may choose to purchase fresh goods at the Lyman's Apple Barrel Market, home to Connecticut's "Best Apple Pie" (as voted by Connecticut Magazine) and year round events for the entire family. Also nestled within this beautiful setting is The Lyman Homestead, an historic home of gracious proportions. Built in the 1860s, the Homestead is listed in the National Historic Registry of Historic Places and the Connecticut Freedom Trail. The Homestead is available to host special events or can be incorporated into your golf outing.
