Gouveia Vineyards was established in 1999 and is located in Walllingford, Connecticut, high on 140 sun-kissed acres. This bucolic masterpiece hints of Old World charm and of a time long past. The winery building is built of stone and old timbers and commands a spectacular 360 degree view of lush woodlands, open fields, grapevines, horses grazing, and pristine hundred-year old farms. Visitors who come to the winery for a wine tasting or a glass or bottle of wine are welcome to bring their own picnic lunch, but please, no other beverages. From the moment the winery opened, it has become a place that people have visited to get away from their stresses. Sometimes visitors like to sit back and enjoy a glass of wine by our double-sided fireplace or outside on the patios to take in the spectacular setting sun. Sometimes three or four generation of families will sit at a table by the window and play board games, while sharing cheese and crackers. Sometimes friends will sit together on the dock and watch the fish swim beneath their feet. Sometimes a person will come in by themselves and sit at a corner table to read a book. No matter what the reason is for a visitor to come to the winery, they leave with a lighter step and the chance to dream their own impossible dreams.
