American Steamed Cheeseburgers

Tucked away behind the Wallingford train station, American Steamed Cheeseburgers has built upon Connecticut’s steamed cheeseburger tradition since it opened in 2013.

People from all around the U.S. travel to American Steamed to try these unique burgers, which can be topped with free fixings such as tomato, onion, and pickles, as well as extras such as bacon and chili. Those burgers, of course, anchor the menu, but American Steamed also churns out addictive hot dogs, chicken sandwiches and steak-and-cheese sandwiches.
