Day at the Beach

When summer is here, you’ll find most of the state heads for the coast on the weekends. But those can be the busiest times for Connecticut beaches, especially when you’re looking for parking. So, if it’s a one-day getaway you’re looking for, take a day off work and try one of these breezy beach towns for a fun and sun-filled day at the shore.

Branford Beach & Brew

Branford is home to Stony Creek Beach and Branford Point Beach, two great public beaches, both staffed by lifeguards. Off shore, you’ll find the Thimble Islands, and you can even take a cruise out to see both the wildlife and the good life out there. After all that water, drench your thirst with a craft beer at New England Brewing Company, which welcomes guests on a deck overlooking the Sound and some tasty bites.
