Gunn Memorial Library & Historical Museum

The Gunn Historical Museum, located in a 1781 house, features a new long-term exhibit entitled Washington, Connecticut - An American Story . The immersive exhibit, designed by the creative agency SandorMax, focuses on all villages of Washington, Connecticut: Washington Green, Washington Depot, New Preston, Marbledale and Woodville. William Benton Museum of Art

The William Benton Museum of Art opened officially in 1967 though its roots go back to the early 20th century and the days of the Connecticut Agricultural College, which evolved into the University of Connecticut. The Gurleyville Grist Mill, located on the beautiful Fenton River, offers a unique opportunity to observe rural 19th century gristmill technology. It contains a complete system of preserved milling equipment. This is not a restoration; here visitors see the equipment as it was operated over many decades and to the middle of the 20th century.
