Buttonwood Farm Ice Cream

Founded in 1975 by the Button Family, Buttonwood Farm started as dairy and eventually evolved into the ice cream stand we all know and love today. The family researched old recipes and developed their now famous ice cream using only premium ingredients. In 2003, the farm planted a field of sunflowers so that visitors coming for ice cream could enjoy the rural beauty of Connecticut. This eventually led to the ice cream stand's now famous Sunflowers for Wishes fundraiser. During a week in June, Buttonwood Farm cuts sunflower bouquets to sell, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish
