Town of Southington

Southington offers visitors a wide array of unique venues and attractions seldom found in one area. Throughout the changing seasons, the town hosts various annual events, including the Apple Harvest Festival, which features a 5K road race, a craft fair, and the famous apple fritters. Lake Compounce, the country's oldest continuously-run amusement park, thrills thousands of visitors each year with thrilling rides, games, and the state's largest outdoor waterpark. Southington is also home to three challenging public golf courses. Fall is a great time to visit, with an abundance of farms to explore, or enjoy a hike along the trails by Crescent Lake or the Metacomet Trail, which overlooks Wassel Reservoir. In the winter, enjoy downhill skiing at Mount Southington Ski Area.
