Highland Campground

120 sites. Highland Campground is located off I-395 Exit 83 and is midway between Mystic Seaport and Sturbridge Village in Massachusetts. Use the park as a base camp to visit some of the following points of interest, which are all located within one hour drive from the campground: Foxwoods Resort Casino, Mashantucket; Mohegan Sun, Uncasville; Ocean Beach Park and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London; and the Sub Base in Groton; beaches in Rhode Island; Steam Train and Riverboat, Essex; Gillette Castle State Park, East Haddam; Mark Twain House, Hartford; and many more including trout hatchery, wineries, old and majestic homes in northeastern Connecticut. Later, relax in the quiet, wooded park with modern facilities. Take a swim in the swimming pool, join in a game of shuffleboard or just enjoy a campfire.
