This little cottage, built circa 1850, retains its small scale charm, yet offers modern comforts expected today. In addition to a living and dining room, there is a full vintage kitchen, two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a laundry nook with washer and dryer. Curl up with a good book or explore nearby trails. The cottage is convenient to UConn, Eastern CT State University, The Pomfret School, Hyde School, Willimantic and Putnam.
Trails and a brook meander through the grounds. This little village in the heart of the Quiet Corner retains the character of the mid 1800's. If you take away the pavement and utility poles, the street scene is much the same as it was in 1850. Benjamin Chaplin left money to build a church, and the homes on the street were built near that church. The Clark family owned the home until 1911, and there are 74 Clarks in a nearby cemetery!
The setting is quiet, with very little traffic. It is a beautiful place to pause and regroup.
