Bantam Lake

Enjoy a day at the beach on Bantam Lake, home to two beaches, Morris Town Beach and Sandy Beach in Litchfield. Morris Town Beach is a small beach, but great for relaxing. There is also a boat launch on East Shore Road, off Route 109. Sandy Beach is a large beach with a bathhouse, canoe launch, and picnicking.

As the largest natural lake in Connecticut, much of the land at the northern end of Bantam Lake, including the peninsula of Marsh Point, is protected by White Memorial Foundation and home to a wide array of bird species. The lake is great for sailing, ice boating, fresh water and ice fishing, and camping is available.
