Fireside Sauna

book tickets now learn more

The experience begins as you pull up to the farm, allow yourself to slow down and enjoy the beauty of your surroundings, take time to hydrate your body, relax in the heat of the sauna and recover while resting outside.

What to expect:

Several wood fired saunas set in beautiful surroundings. The farm is past its peak growing season and leaves are falling from the trees. You are invited to bring friends or meet new ones at the farm around community fire pits and picnic tables. Our goal is to provide a space that allows you to relax and socialize in a beautiful setting.

When you arrive you will be welcomed and there will be light refreshments water, tea, cider, snacks. There will be bathrooms with running water available as well as changing tents.

Feel free to come wearing a bathing suit under your clothes or change when you arrive. Cell phones should be left with your clothes when you are done changing, they are not permitted in the sauna.

Once you are settled, the best way to experience a sauna is by three cycles of heat and recovery. Begin by spending about 10-15 minutes in the sauna, then another 10-15 minutes outside the sauna resting and hydrating. Taking a break to hydrate is key. You can use this time to explore the farm as well. Once you are ready, repeat this cycle two more times.

What is it like in the sauna?

The sauna will have a wood fired stove with rocks piled on top that creates a gentle heat, about 175-180 degrees. Water is poured onto the stones to create soothing steam. There will most likely be several different types of saunas, a cedar cabin sauna and a sauna tent. Each one is a different experience. The saunas have two tiered benches. If the heat is too intense, try sitting on the lower bench, it will be cooler down there. There will be hosts from Steam City Sauna to check on you.

If you begin to feel lightheaded or like your heart is racing it’s probably a good time to take a break. Step out of the sauna, get some fresh air and drink some water.
