Governor Lamont Announces #CTByThePie Social Media Contest: Win Your Way Onto Connecticut’s First-Ever Pizza Trail Tour
HARTFORD, CT [September 3, 2025] – Governor Ned Lamont today announced a statewide social media giveaway to celebrate the October 1 launch of the Connecticut Pizza Trail. Anyone who reshares CT Visit’s official “Connecticut By The Pie” social post will be entered into a raffle to win two tickets to the Connecticut Pizza Trail event—a two day bus tour on DATTCO’s one-of-a-kind “Pizza Capital of the U.S.” coach, featuring the state’s most iconic and up-and-coming pizzerias.
“Connecticut doesn’t just make great pizza—we set the standard and built the pizza culture movement,” Governor Lamont said. “The Connecticut Pizza Trail is a fun way to explore our communities, support local businesses, and taste a piece of our tradition. I encourage everyone to join in, share the graphic, and enter for a chance to experience the tour.”
Administered by the Connecticut Office of Statewide Marketing & Tourism (SMT), part of the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD), the Pizza Trail Tour will take place October 1-2, 2025. Winners will enjoy behind-the-scenes access to the culture and craft that make Connecticut’s pies famous nationwide.
“From New Haven’s coal-fired classics to neighborhood standouts across the state, our pizza scene is second to none,” said Anthony Anthony, Chief Marketing Officer for the State of Connecticut. “The Pizza Trail puts Connecticut’s culinary culture on the national stage, giving travelers one more reason to explore our towns and cities this fall and beyond.”
"Pizza is part of Connecticut’s DNA, and our local restaurants take enormous pride in being recognized among the very best in the country,” said Scott Dolch, President & CEO of the Connecticut Restaurant Association. “The Connecticut Pizza Trail and this giveaway are great ways to celebrate that tradition, support the hardworking owners and employees behind each pie, and highlight the vibrant network of restaurants and workers who make Connecticut's dining scene so special."
About the ‘By the Pie” Graphic
The Connecticut By The Pie poster was created by SMT in collaboration with artist Michael Pollack of New Haven Pizza Club and Joe Massaro of New Haven Pizza Crew. The poster highlights 30 beloved pizzerias across Connecticut, including Modern Apizza, Sally’s, Pepe’s, Colony Grill, Zuppardi’s, and Zeneli. While not all appear on the official Pizza Trail, the artwork celebrates the diversity and depth of Connecticut’s pizza scene.
