Connecticut Marks One Year of the Christmas Movie Trail With a Mystic Getaway Giveaway

Hartford, CT (November 24, 2025)— The Connecticut Office of Statewide Marketing & Tourism (SMT) is celebrating the one-year anniversary of the Connecticut Christmas Movie Trail—the first program of its kind in the United States—by offering fans the chance to win a cinematic getaway to Mystic, CT, including an overnight stay at Captain’s Mansion and a $100 dining card to Friar Tuck’s Tavern, which was featured in the Hallmark holiday hit Mystic Christmas. 

Launched in 2024, the Connecticut Christmas Movie Trail transformed the state’s long-standing role as a backdrop for 22 holiday films produced by Hallmark, Netflix, and Lifetime into a statewide, interactive travel experience. 

The trail spans more than 100 filming locations across 22 towns, giving visitors the opportunity to walk through the actual streets, storefronts, inns, and neighborhoods where their favorite holiday movies were MADE. Since its debut, the trail has generated national attention—tapping directly into the surging “set-jetting” trend, where travelers seek out real-life movie destinations. 

“People don’t want to simply watch holiday magic, they want to step inside it,” said Ellen Woolf, Brand Director for the Connecticut Office of Statewide Marketing & Tourism. “This trail lets visitors experience the festive places and moments they fell in love with on screen while discovering and supporting the local shops, restaurants, makers, and communities who bring Connecticut’s charm to life year-round.” 

HOW TO ENTER THE MYSTIC GETAWAY GIVEAWAY 

To celebrate the trail’s anniversary, visitors can enter by sharing their own Christmas Movie Trail experience: 

• Visit any stop on the Connecticut Christmas Movie Trail 

• Post a photo or video on Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok using #CTChristmasMovieTrail 

• Make the post public (private accounts may DM a screenshot to confirm entry) 

PRIZE PACKAGE
