Description:

The Torrington Historical Society and Five Points Arts are delighted to sponsor Write Me at Every Opportunity, a stage adaption based on American Revolutionary War correspondence (1775 – 1777) between husband and wife, Nathan and Lois Peters of Preston, Connecticut. The phrase “Write me at every opportunity” appears in letters from both individuals during this time period. Short quotes from the couple’s correspondence were also used in the Ken Burns documentary, The American Revolution.

Commissioned by the Preston Historical Society, this stage adaptation will be performed by Pocket Productions,      a new nonprofit theater group based in Torrington CT.  John Long, formerly from Torrington, adapted the correspondence for the stage. The collection of correspondence is owned by the Connecticut Museum of Culture & History.
