"We, the Fishermen" presentation
Fish or cut bait? Captain Bob Wadsworth does both, and then some!
The Waterford Historical Society has invited Captain Bob to share his extensive knowledge of fishing over the past century in the waters of Long Island Sound, nearby areas of the Atlantic Ocean, and the Niantic River. The program is free and open to the public and will take place in the downstairs meeting room of the Waterford Public Library on Monday, September 14, at 7 p.m. Social time with light refreshments at 6:30 p.m. precedes the program.
Captain Bob owns and operates Captain John’s Sport Fishing Center and the Mago Point Marina in Niantic, which have been in the Wadsworth family since World War II.
His presentation will relate how the types of fish available in our local salt waters have changed somewhat in the past 100 years as have the styles and sizes of fishing boats and types of fishing gear. Bob will also display various fishing-related items and will answer any fishing-related questions.
