Travel back to 1775-76 to meet some of the local Patriots who lived around the Norwichtown Green, a key meeting place during the war for Independence. Learn about why Norwich residents were leaders in the move towards separation from England, even if it meant risking their lives and everything they owned.
The tour is based on a new book Norwich in the American Revolution by Patricia Staley.(which will be released November 4).
We’ll meet on the Green, Saturday, Sept.27th, across from the Joseph Carpenter Silversmith Shop (71 East Town St., Norwich) and start at 10 a.m. Parking is available around the Green.
The tour is sponsored by Leffingwell House Museum and the Society of Founders of Norwich.
