U.S. Coast Guard Band Presents Free Concert: “Centennial Celebration Tour Preview”
Sunday, February 2 at 2:00 p.m. in Leamy Hall at the United States Coast Guard Academy, the United States Coast Guard Band presents a free “Centennial Celebration Tour Preview” concert. Along with director, Captain Adam Williamson, help us celebrate The Band’s 100th year in operation!
The program opens with the exciting and theatrical arrangement of Gilbert and Sullivan tunes, “Pineapple Poll.” Grgin’s “Concertino” follows, featuring MUC Charlie Suriyakham on clarinet. “Peace Dancer” by Jodie Blackshaw precedes Sousa's “National Game March.” Next on the program is the second movement from the innovative Concerto for Wind Ensemble by Kevin Day, and the concert concludes with Arturo Marquez’s irresistible “Danzón No. 2.”
