Tackle the Trail (TM)

Tackle the Trail, Northeast Connecticut’s unique race in an AMAZING place. Offering various distance options, including a marathon, 1/2 marathon, 10K, and marathon relay (up to 5 team members), runners enjoy the quiet solitude of nature with bursts of energetic and supportive fans throughout this point-to-point race. Always the third Saturday in October, all courses traverse the northern portion of the scenic Air Line Trail State Park from Windham, CT through downtown Putnam, CT with technical loops, mixed terrain, bridges, and more. It is intertwined in the fabric of fall events in the “Scenic Northeast” corner of the state, boasting more than 100 volunteers and partnerships with local businesses. 

Just 45 minutes from Providence and 1 hour from Boston, Tackle the Trail, your gateway to trail racing in New England.

Highlights include; amazing scenery, great swag, enthusiastic volunteers and entrance to an awesome post-race party.
