Swim Across the Sound 2025

The Seaport has become the venue for numerous annual fundraisers and celebrations. Our signature yearly event is the St. Vincent’s Hospital "Swim Across the Sound" which for more than twenty years has taken place at Captain’s Cove on the first Saturday of August.

The “Swim” centers on a 17 mile cross Sound race from Port Jefferson L.I. to Captain’s Cove. The race, and related events such as the Park City Regatta, raise in the neighborhood of three million dollars a year for the Hospital’s cancer support programs. Captain’s Cove is the proud supporter of a number of non-profit organizations including Beacon Preservation, Sea Scout Ship 110, Sound Waters, Tall Ship “Unicorn,” The “Heart of Sailing” Foundation, and “H2O.” These groups provide a wide range of support services ranging from sail training for the physically challenged to the preservation of our local lighthouses.
