Sebastian Smee Presents the Docent Memorial Lecture
2PM LECTURE FOLLOWED BY A BOOK SIGNING
Sebastian Smee, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, presents a lecture on his most recent book Paris in Ruins: Love, War, and the Birth of Impressionism. Smee reconsiders the origin of Impressionism as a pivotal moment in the rise of modern art. The lecture coincides with the museum’s reinstallation of the Impressionist collection and celebrates the new ways of seeing Impressionism that are brought to light in our galleries and his book. Come early and check out the Impressionism gallery before the lecture.
