Seafood Fest at NEBCO Branford

We’re raising a glass to 20 years of our flagship Sea Hag IPA—and celebrating the best of the shoreline while we’re at it. Join us on Saturday, May 23 at NEBCO Branford for our first annual Seafood Fest, a laid-back, family-friendly day filled with fresh seafood, local vendors, and live music. Admission is free, so whether you’re stopping by for a few oysters or planning to spend the whole afternoon with us, it’s an easy way to kick off the season by the water.

At the center of it all is the food. NEBCO Kitchen by Supreme Seafood will be serving up a full menu of seafood favorites, including fried seafood, lobster rolls, and more. Alongside the kitchen, we’ll be featuring Connecticut-based oyster vendors, giving guests the chance to sample oysters farmed from waters all across the state.

Live music will keep the energy going throughout the day with a performance from One Bad Oyster. Known for their upbeat mix of ska and surf, plus a full horn section, they bring the kind of sound that fits perfectly with a shoreline afternoon.

We’ll also be hosting a coastal-inspired vendor market featuring local makers and small businesses. Expect a mix of nautical and beach-inspired goods, from artwork and apparel to home pieces and handmade items that feel right at home in a shoreline setting.

NEBCO Shuck Off

One of the highlights of the day will be the NEBCO Shuck Off, an oyster shucking competition between participating vendors. Each vendor will send one team member to the table to compete head-to-head, racing to shuck a dozen oysters as quickly and cleanly as possible. Competitors will be judged not just on speed, but also on cleanliness (no shell fragments) and oyster integrity (nothing mangled or damaged). One winner will take home the NEBCO Shuck Off Trophy and the title of fastest shucker of the day.

Come hungry, stay for the music, and spend the day with us enjoying everything that makes the Connecticut shoreline special.

Please Note: Seafood and oysters will be available for purchase from our vendors throughout the event. Admission is free, but all food and beverage items must be purchased separately. This event is family-friendly
