School's Out!

School’s OUT! @ the Mattatuck Museum (ages 5+)
Drop off your child daily for this day-long experience. Children will be immersed in the Museum’s galleries while learning about history and developing their art skills with unique materials and techniques.

Camp hours – 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM; FREE Before and After Care from 8 AM – 9 AM and 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM.

Tuesday, January 6  : Vibrant Vision

Dive into the vibrant, graphic world of Gerald Saladayga in this one-day art camp where you’ll explore his signature style and bold use of color. Campers will be inspired to create their own stylized portraits and graphic, comic-book-inspired compositions using techniques like hard-edge painting and mixed media collage.


Monday, January 19 : From Portrait to Pop: Exploring the Mattatuck Collection

Explore the hidden gems of the Mattatuck Museum through the eyes of our camp staff as we delve into their favorite works, spanning everything from historical portraiture to regional modernism. Campers will draw inspiration from these chosen masterpieces to create their own works in a variety of media.


Monday, February 16 :The Roaring Twenties

Step back into the glamorous world of the 1920s! Explore the dazzling geometric patterns of Art Deco design and the sleek graphic style of the Jazz Age as we learn about life in the twenties.


Tuesday, Febuary 17 :Read All About It!

Uncover the dynamic world of print media in this day dedicated to newspaper design and history in Waterbury. Campers will transform newsprint into powerful visual art and even create their own mock headlines and front pages.

School’s OUT! payment and registrations are being accepted on a rolling basis, however, the refund policy remains in effect. The registration form MUST be completed prior to the first day the child will be participating in camp.
