Roses & Romance Weekend at The Connecticut Renaissance Faire

Roses & Romance Weekend turns the Connecticut Renaissance Faire into the most romantic two days of the season, and one of the more interesting places to be single in Connecticut.

Both days run the same lineup. The Fairest of Them All contest is decided not by judges but by roses: anyone can buy a rose and award it to a contestant throughout the day. Whoever collects the most is crowned. The grand prize is a gold-dipped rose from Gypsy Rose, plus tickets to come back. Vow Renewals follow immediately after, and married couples can renew their promises in a ceremony included with admission, with a commemorative certificate to mark it.

For singles, pick up a complimentary "Single!" sticker at the Gypsy Rose booth and let people know you're open to conversation. Ye Olde Speed Dating runs both days for $10: participants get a rose to keep or gift, a name tag with pronouns, and timed rounds with icebreaker prompts. You rotate only within your chosen realm, Knight, Maiden, Fairy, or Dragon, so everyone you meet is looking for the same kind of connection.

Come dressed for romance or come in jeans. The Faire doesn't require a costume to cast a spell.
