River Tales: The River That Flows Beside Me
Swing by the Connecticut River Museum for take-home craft activities that engage kids with the Connecticut River’s stunning wildlife and rich history! Crafts will take place in the Museum’s Boathouse. A program designed for kids 4 and older and their caregivers, River Tales features a story and craft activity centered around nature.
In November, we’ll read The River That Flows Beside Me by Charlotte Guillain, winner of the 2024 Bank Street College of Education Best Book of the Year (Ecology) and the Good Housekeeping Best Kids Book Award 2023. With a focus on the important role waterways play in human and environmental survival, The River That Flows Beside Me explores the changing landscapes along a river’s journey and the habits and ecosystems that call the river their home.
