A Festive Journey Through Time: The Ridgefield Holiday House Tour Returns on December 6, 2025
What better way to kick off the holiday season than with the Ridgefield Holiday House Tour, a festive journey through time showcasing Ridgefield’s architectural beauty and community spirit. Presented by and benefiting the Ridgefield Historical Society and Tiger Hollow, Inc., this much-loved tradition returns on Saturday, December 6, 2025, inviting guests inside six remarkable homes, each decked out in its holiday best.
From colonial charm to the high style of a Main Street Italianate residence to a former barn, the tour offers a taste of many eras in Ridgefield’s history. Adding to the seasonal splendor, Lounsbury House will serve as the tour’s headquarters, where tickets can be picked up and guests can enjoy a fabulous raffle and shopping at a festive Holiday Market showcasing exceptional gifts, elegant decor, and unique finds to delight and inspire.
“This event is a wonderful way to celebrate the season while exploring Ridgefield’s rich architectural history,” said Stephen Bartkus, Executive Director of the Ridgefield Historical Society. “Each stop offers a different window into Ridgefield’s evolution through the centuries.”
Six Homes, Six Stories
This year’s tour features six distinct properties, each reflecting a unique era and style—from Colonial simplicity to Victorian elegance and modern craftsmanship.
Highlights include:
The Book Barn, a restored 18th-century barn that once served as Emmy Sloan’s beloved bookshop and tea retreat.
The William Jones House, a 19th-century Greek Revival gem with period furnishings and enduring grace.
The Lewis Bailey House, an early-Victorian residence tied to one of Ridgefield’s prominent businessmen.
The Edwin Benedict House, a beautifully preserved early 1800s farmhouse steeped in post–Battle of Ridgefield lore.
The Rectory at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, paired with the adjacent church’s serene Colonial Revival interior.
The Orchard Estate, a newly built Colonial on historic land once known as “The Orchard,” blending craftsmanship with heritage.
Serving as the tour headquarters, Lounsbury House, the stunning former home of Governor Phineas Chapman Lounsbury, will be aglow with holiday lights and brimming with activity. Guests can pick up tickets, shop the Holiday Market, and enter the always-popular raffle featuring prizes donated by local businesses.
A Celebration of Community and Preservation
The Ridgefield Holiday House Tour benefits two organizations dedicated to the heart of Ridgefield. The Ridgefield Historical Society preserves and celebrates the town’s cultural and architectural heritage, while Tiger Hollow Stadium serves as a premier venue for community and school events. Together, they celebrate Ridgefield’s history, its people, and its bright future.
“We’re proud to collaborate on something that supports both the town’s heritage and its sense of community,” said Llewellyn Cheng, event co-chair and founder of LL & Co. Architecture + Interiors. “It’s a magical event that brings neighbors together in the spirit of the holidays.”
Holiday Market and Raffle
The Holiday Market at Lounsbury House—open to the public—will feature distinctive gifts, local artisan crafts, home décor, and seasonal treats. The raffle is another highlight, giving everyone a chance to win fantastic prizes while supporting Ridgefield’s nonprofits. Raffle tickets can be purchased in person or online at ridgefieldholidayhousetour.org/raffle
