Quantum Day

⚛️ STEP INTO THE QUANTUM REVOLUTION

Get ready to geek out with a day full of hands-on experiments, mind-blowing demos, and quantum-powered fun! Step into The Quantum Revolution: Made in New Haven and discover real devices dreamed up and built right here in the Elm City. You’ll explore the wild world of quantum science—and see how it’s shaping the future—through awesome interactive experiences that are anything but ordinary.

COME CURIOUS—LEAVE QUANTUM!

  • QuantumCT | Meet the innovators behind a statewide push to bring quantum technology to the real world
  • Operation: Block Radiation | Space is dangerous! Can you build a shield strong enough to protect astronauts?
  • Spectroscopy | Use a spectrometer to decode glowing gases by their unique color signatures
  • Glow Rocks | Watch rocks glow under UV light and learn about the science of fluorescence
  • Wave Wonders | See how quantum particles move using a giant interactive wave model
  • Quantum Chess Lab | Enter the Quantum Realm with “Sph1r0” and experience the game like never before

Quantum Revolution: Made in New Haven:

A touring science and art exhibition curated by Florian Carle for the Yale Quantum Institute. It highlights 25 years of local breakthroughs in quantum research, featuring groundbreaking devices like Badger, the world’s first superconducting two-qubit processor, alongside beautifully illustrated quantum components and original artwork by YQI Artist-in-Residence Martha W. Lewis. After stops in New Haven, Greensboro, and even UNESCO in Paris, this one-of-a-kind exhibit lands at the Connecticut Science Center this spring in celebration of World Quantum Day.
