Opening Weekend & Artisan Market at The Connecticut Renaissance Faire
Royal Family & Market Weekend opens the Connecticut Renaissance Faire season on August 29 and 30. The dog is invited. And this weekend, they have a real reason to be there.
Saturday brings the Pet Costume Contest — dress them up, bring them to the stage, and let the judges decide if your companion has the charm, imagination, and presence the role demands. Sunday is Sit Happens, a dog-friendly spin on musical chairs: when the music stops, first to sit stays in. It gets competitive. Strangers end up cheering for each other's dogs. All dogs welcome with proof of current rabies vaccination.
The artisan marketplace opens at full strength for the season opener: leather, jewelry, glasswork, woodcraft, clothing, and makers of things you won't find at a mall. Collect Market Receipts as you shop. Spend $200 or more and turn them in at the information booth before Sunday closes — you'll walk out with complimentary General Admission tickets to bring yourself back.
Lebanon residents get in free on Saturday for Neighbor Appreciation Day. Bring a valid ID or household utility bill with a Lebanon address. Children 6 and under are always free.
Gates open at 10:30 AM. Village closes at 6:00 PM.
