Join us at Leffingwell House Museum on Saturday, October 3, 11-3 pm for the 367th Celebration of the Founding of Norwich. At 11:30, The Business sponsored Scarecrow Garden will be opened by the Crow & Cauldron Witch Dancers. At noon listen to a brief history of the Founding of Norwich, followed by Proclamations from the City & State for the Founding of Norwich. then a bell ringing for the 35 founding families. At one pm a short presentation about Rev John Tyler, his portrait and desk will be presented by former members of the Christ Church where Tyler preached for 54 years. You can participate in an I Spy Business Scarecrow Hunt in the garden, with prizes. Inside the museum, learn about the herbs and remedies Mary Bushnell Leffingwell used as a healer in early Norwich, do an ‘I Spy Founder’ History Hunt for artifacts and see the sword of founder Major John Mason on loan from the New London County Historical Society. Prizes for both I Spy Hunts, Have a piece of Founders cake. Museum tours $8.
