North Stonington Celebrates America’s 250th Anniversary
June 27th Parade, Muster, & Colonial Fair!

12:00-4pm - Muster and Colonial Fair - NSHS Homestead Muster Field
Performances by Ameri-clique, Chester, Connecticut Valley Field Music, Deep River Juniors, Nutmeg Volunteers, Westbrook, and Young Colonials fife and drum corps, Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation, 8th Connecticut Volunteers reenactors, plus crafts and games, muskets, costumed photo op, weaving and spinning demonstrations, food, and colonial vendors.
Our event begins at the Monuments at 11am, with an introduction to the Declaration of Independence, Reading the Declaration, and placing a Revolutionary War wreath (courtesy of the Garden Club) with the Town's Soldiers Monuments.
The Fife and Drum Corps will form at Wheeler Cemetery, Laying wreaths on representative graves of veterans from different conflicts in our history.
The Parade will step off at 11:30 with the corps marching down Main Street from Wheeler Cemetery to the Historical Society Field. They should be off the street by around 12-12:30 pm.
The muster and Colonial Fair will be at the NSHS property, primarily in our FIELD. The Grange will provide parking and their kitchen and dining room for our muster meal. The muster meal will open for service at 1:30pm.
