M•PACT
Imagine the smooth soul of Stevie Wonder, the percussive power of Stomp, the funk and groove of Earth, Wind & Fire, the rich harmonies of Take 6, and the brassy swagger of the Michael Bublé Big Band — all created using only the human voice.
Hailed by the San Francisco Chronicle as “one of the best pop/jazz vocal groups in the world,” M•PACT has carved out a global reputation as a trailblazer in vocal music. Based in Los Angeles, this award-winning ensemble has captivated audiences with a sound that is both raw and refined, and always refreshingly human — a bold contrast to the heavily produced soundscape of today’s music scene.
From the start, the group’s “pact” has been to honor the essence of music — regardless of style or genre. With sophisticated arrangements and wide popular appeal, M•PACT has earned accolades including Vocal Group of the Year (LA Music Awards), Artist of the Year (Seattle Music Awards), Grand National Champions (Harmony Sweepstakes), and Billboard Magazine’s “Best Unsigned Band,” as well as an Indie nomination (Independent Grammy Awards). M•PACT has graced fine arts halls and major jazz festivals across four continents, sharing the stage with a diverse array of artists such as Sheryl Crow, Boyz II Men, Natasha Bedingfield, Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Bobby McFerrin, the Woody Herman Orchestra, and the Maynard Ferguson Big Band. Their music has also found its way into TV themes, radio playlists, and Disney animated films, continually expanding their reach and legacy.
Known for their dazzling vocal acrobatics, inventive arrangements, and magnetic stage presence, M•PACT delivers more than just a concert — they create an immersive musical journey. It’s no wonder fans often describe their
shows as a “Technicolor soundscape” and a “Cirque du Soleil of Song.”
Their 2018 release, Wonderful World, earned multiple CARA awards and showcased the group’s current identity while honoring its rich history. Featuring new arrangements alongside long-lost gems from the M•PACT vault, the project exemplified the group’s mission to evolve while staying rooted in tradition and excellence. “This project was an opportunity to make a statement about who M•PACT is today,” said band member Jeff Smith, “while shining a light on the group’s musical legacy.”
In 2020, M•PACT marked their 25th anniversary with a special double album, 25 Years of Harmony — a retrospective including remastered fan favorites, rare archival tracks, and brand-new recordings. They also released a touching anniversary video of “Change in My Life,” uniting 19 past and present members. Now entering their 30th year, M•PACT is working on their ninth full-length album in collaboration with Grammy-nominated arranger and producer Roger Treece.
With this new chapter on the horizon, one thing remains certain: M•PACT’s voice will continue to resonate with music lovers around the world for years to come.
