Meet the Stonecarver & America 250 Tour

Learn about the craft of the colonial stonecarvers and the traditions that were carved in stone. Artist and sculptor Randall Nelson, dressed in colonial attire, will discuss the art, design, and materials of stonecarvers. Many of these artists passed down their styles and traditions to family members. Find out about the types of stones represented in the ABG and the quarries that supplied the materials. Nelson has created numerous replications of gravestones in the Ancient Burying Ground. The program will follow with an America 250 Trail Tour.
