Main Street Salsa Series

The Main Street Salsa Series returns to Central Park for summer 2026! Downtown New Britain invites the community to enjoy a festive outdoor music and dance series in the heart of downtown. This free cultural and wellness program celebrates New Britain’s vibrant Latin heritage while sharing the joy of music, movement, and community connection.

Each event begins at 5:30 PM with a 30-minute beginner-friendly salsa lesson led by an instructor from a local New Britain dance studio. Open to all ages and skill levels, the program is designed to be welcoming, accessible, and fun for first-time dancers and seasoned participants alike. Following the lesson, a DJ Bombero and Joey “Salsa Con” Huertas keep the energy going through 9:00 PM with a mix of salsa and bachata favorites. With a cluster of Latin and Hispanic eateries representing various Central and South American countries, enjoy food vendors on site and stay energized for all that foot work.
