A Living - Traveling - Time Capsule!

A living time capsule is defined as "a place where history, culture, or daily life has remained largely unchanged for decades." These spots preserve the look, feel, and pace of earlier eras, making them ideal for travelers seeking authenticity. We decided to take a twist on the typical time capsule as well as the definition above and we created our own unique "Living-Traveling-Time Capsule" for the community to enjoy! Waterford was built on farming and granite. There's a ton of agricultural history in this town to be explored and shared. Instead of the traditional time capsule where items are placed in a box and hidden to be forgotten about for years to come and dug up later; we took a unique approach offering the community a tangible connection to the past. We have a time capsule being built that will be ready before St Nick arrives! We will reach out to the businesses that make Waterford home - Agriculture, Industry, Prosperity is what we were built on. We want to showcase it from the past to show how we got here. Waterford is turning 225 and America 250. There's so much to be proud of! We will be showcasing more than nostalgia - authentic cultural experiences will be had. History lovers, photographers and anyone who wants to step back in time without visiting a museum will get to experience the wonders of Waterford! 

Even more exciting is the time capsule will be mobile! It will be on wheels, so it can be moved around Town Hall (where it will begin), but it can also be transported to other Town buildings (Community Center, Library, Schools, etc.) for the community to learn from and enjoy. We are very excited about this project and thrilled to share it with the Town of Waterford.
